Sheba the family dog died when I was away in Rome last week. We had two dogs this time last year - Clio, Sheba’s daughter died in november of last year. We bought a new puppy last year called Lupe. Lupe is full of energy and hyper as hell. She tormented Sheba with her crazzy antics. Now that Sheba is gone she is concentrating her energy on us.
Yesterday, I was greeted by a very excited puppy dog when I got home. I was so tired the tiny little puppy nearly knocked me over when she jumped at me.
I think she misses Sheba though, she isn’t sleeping as much as she should be.
It was very foggy in Clondalkin today. The air was so moist that whenever I stepped under a tree I got rained on; and I could hear the mist condensing into drops of water. The fog was fantastic, but it foiled my plains to walk my dog…..
I have arrived home. Five minutes after arriving home all my clothes became coated in tiny tiny white dog hairs. Argh!
Yesterday I was glad to be back in Ireland; I was glad to have an unlimited supply of Irish tea - Oh wonderful, wonderful Irish tea - Yummy! (Drools)…I was glad to have Irish bacon (Rashers) again and I was happy to have an only occasionallyincompetent but plentiful public transport system (with comfy seats).
Now, I wanna go back to Boston where they don’t constantly litter the ground with rubbish, where the cars don’t block the pedestrian crossings, where men that look like football hooligans and woman with awful fake tans either don’t exist, or stay in their cars where you can’t see them.
I’m still Jet lagged. I will be back in work tomorrow. I think I will go log on to Warcraft…
Saturday: My Parents have been in Italy for less than a week and the dogs are already getting ratty. They hate being in the house by themselves. My siblings are busy playing “Samba de amigo” on the Dreamcast. Looks fun but it hasn’t tempted me yet. It reminds me of Dance Dance Revolution on the Playstation. If I remember correctly olethros convinced me to try Dance Dance Revolution first; I enjoyed it but I am definitely not fit enough to play that for long. I enjoyed the RP night at Mr_wombats yesterday. I wish I knew how to roleplay properly. My repeated attempts to use my atheric attunement became a lot like “I wanna cast magic missile at the darkness” http://youtube.com/watch?v=zng5kRle4FA
My parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary by flying off to Italy. They will be living the high live for a few weeks. Because neither my mother nor my father are interested in Pearls, so myself and my siblings gave them money for their holiday instead. They are in Naples now. They have texted me yesterday to tell me to:
“Make sure to unplug the george foreman grill and turn off the cooker with finished with them”
and to tell me that Naples is
“Very hot”
Now I know that:
a)they think I might burn the house down
and
b)Naples is hot.
I had a wonderful evening hanging out with mr_wombat, gothwalk, inannajones, and olethros. mr_wombat you are very funny when you are drunk, but I have hidden the rum…..
I am going to the Dentist tomorrow to get my wisdom tooth out. This will be the second attempt to get this tooth out so I am apprehensive about it. They are going to give me lots of drugs, so I should be ok.
Work is bad. So bad that I will not mention the details. I am really really looking forward to Boston and….Rome
!
It has been a busy few weeks. I have been a bit worn out lately, so I appologise to anyone I haven’t been in contact with for a while. Work has been busy, too busy. This job is always busy but I have rarely been as overwhelmed with work as I have been over the past few weeks.
I had a work interview on Monday. Just learned that I didn’t get the job.
I really enjoyed the Warhammer game on Thursday. It was very entertaining.
I went to a wedding on Saturday with mr_wombat in Cavan. The ceremony was beautiful (half of it was in Irish and half in English). Came home just in time to get caught in the post match traffic.
I had a very productive day today. I am feeling quite proud of myself. I successfully put together a flat-packed multimedia unit from Argos, and I did it with great ease. I managed to make my room look vaguely tidy for the first time in….a very very long time. I have attempted this task many times before and failed; I have had way too much stuff. I will have to get rid of some of this crap before I suffocate in useless belongings that have long since served their purpose.
My brother bought me a load of new Studio Ghibli films, I think I will watch one as a reward for my good work.

Yesterday was a great day. I enjoyed the sun in the morning did some chores. Mr_Wombat came over for lunch and I made a sandwitchy feast. Yum! Watched Battle Star Galactica and played multiplayer computer games: Chu- chu rocket, Monkey tennis in Super monkey ball 2, Super smash brothers melee. My brother won every single time…garr!
Spent some time hanging out in the back garden and watering a very sad looking sun-burnt pear tree.
Doen’t sound like much but it was a great day.
On the job front:
I did get my application for promotion in on time after all. I have been working harder because one of my colleagues got another job and hasn’t been replaced yet and another colleague is going through a berevement.
Went to Pirates of the Caribbean with Mr_Wombat on Sunday. I was fantastic. The bottle of rum afterwards was not…much hungoverness….argh!
Just saw a disturbing add on T.V. about the world cup related to this:
Burrr!

Mr_Wombat introduced me to a computer game called The Movies this week. It seems to be a cross between Sims Family and Theme park. Sims family nearly stole my life several years ago and The Movies is just as addictive….argh!
